ASA-3862 is a multi-purpose adhesive designed for use on most edge banding equipment. It is designed to bond well in various materials, including PVC, melamine, ABS, acrylic, and wood veneer. This high-strength adhesive offers excellent wetting and flow characteristics along with a smooth adhesive surface to eliminate the glue line. The glue line may be more or less visible depending on material, color, and compression. Customer trials are therefore strongly advised.
ASA-3862 has excellent melt performance, heat resistance, adhesion, and bond stability at low temperatures after initial melting. Upon melting, the adhesive exhibits high oxidation and color stability. Please note that the edging material’s surface structure and the processing conditions both will have an impact on the outcome.
ASA-3862 is simple to use and provides excellent performance with a high final bond strength. As a filled EVA, ASA-3862 has the advantage of zero stringing while having a higher viscosity, which can be advantageous when applied to porous substrates such as chipboard.
